DuPage County has many wonderful resources when it comes to locating information on your roots. The DuPage County Historical Museum is one resource.

The museum has something for everyone like changing exhibits, a research area, summer camps for kids, special events and trains. It is also a block away from the Wheaton Public Library which has a fantastic genealogy and local history section. This summer the museum opened a Civil War Exhibit called The Civil War and DuPage County: A Local Perspective.  Check it out. This year is the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War.

Did you know DCGS holds the first meeting of each year at the museum, the third Wednesday of September. You can stop in early and look around.

Museum hours are: Weekdays from 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. and Weekends from noon – 4:00 p.m.

Train hours are 1:30-3:30 p.m. on the third (and fifth*) Saturday of each month.
